00:50Start from scratch, remix existing videos or animate photos.

00:55For now, clip lengths are limited.

00:57Five seconds with a ChatGPT Plus subscription and up to 20 seconds with Pro.

01:05Sora also has a landing page where new creations are shared.

02:14The launch of Sora is part of a huge OpenAI promotion campaign.

02:18They are revealing product news in 12 online events in December.

02:22And they do have a lot of marketing power.

02:25The company is currently valued at about 150 billion euros.

02:29But generative AI like Sora brings numerous challenges.

02:33Firstly, AI-generated images have become a huge problem.

02:37So-called deepfake videos have been used to create false information

02:42with potentially severe political consequences.

02:45But also generative AI makes all kinds of online fraud possible

02:50by stealing a person's likeness.

02:52And last but not least, it gets ever easier to create so-called deepfake porn.

02:57OpenAI says that videos made with Sora will have clear watermarks

03:02and special metadata showing they were created with AI.

03:06Before you upload any images or videos to Sora,

03:09you need to agree that your content doesn't include

03:12minors, explicit or violent material, or anything copyrighted.

03:17If you misuse the upload feature, your account could be banned or suspended.

03:22But these measures are far from perfect.

03:24Especially the watermark is very easy to remove.

03:27You can simply crop it out.

03:29Another major issue, copyright.

03:31Generative AI like Sora relies on massive datasets for training.

03:36Creatives argue their work is being used without consent

03:40and that AI-generated content often mimics their style without paying them a dime.
