00:00Scenes like this have become heartbreakingly common outside this hospital in Ahmedabad.
00:07This woman has traveled hundreds of kilometers to collect the body of her nephew, Daniel Lawrence,
00:14one of the 241 people killed in the crash.
00:18He had flown from London just two weeks ago to attend his father's funeral.
00:23But he never made it back.
00:25Oh my God, what have you done to our son? His father expired.
00:31Now you have taken our son also. We have no one now.
00:36She is not alone. Families from across the country have gathered here,
00:40hoping to claim the bodies of their loved ones.
00:43But the sheer intensity of the crash means identification will take time.
00:48Many of the victims were burned beyond recognition.
00:52It has been three days and we are still waiting for the dead body of our family member, Akash.
00:57Akash's mother is admitted in one ward and her son's dead body is kept in another.
01:03Having lost a family member, I'm feeling really miserable.
01:07When you lose a loved one, the pain is unbearable.
01:11Inside the hospital premises, paramedics who work day and night are praying for the dead and recovery of the injured.
01:17At this crash site, the scale of tragedy is massive.
01:21The first thing that you encounter as soon as you enter this area is a very strong burning smell that hangs in the air.
01:27Dozens of ambulances, police officers, rescue teams are still at work.
01:31I have never seen destruction on this scale.
01:33The crash has left an indelible scar on the city and its people.
01:37This medical college bore the brint of the crash that caused the death of dozens of medical students and heavy damage to the building.
01:44Dr. Arun Prashant, a medical student here, was in his room at the time of the crash.
01:50He was among the lucky ones who managed to escape by jumping from his balcony.
01:55Suddenly I heard some loud noise, like some thundering sound and suddenly all the windows and doors were shaking in my room.
02:05And some, I thought some explosion happened and it was spreading to, fire was spreading to all the floors and all.
02:12So I didn't have time to think and within five to ten seconds, I immediately started running towards the ground floor and I just wanted to save my life and run away from the dead.
02:24While Arun survived, his many colleagues did not.
02:27As investigators began their work to establish the reason behind the crash, those who mourn the dead are grappling with the dreadful reality of their lives.
