00:07Yes, good evening Sheila, good evening to all our countrymen who are watching on TV.

00:12ASEC, what are the dangerous diseases that can be caused by the eruption of the volcano Canlaon?

00:17And what are the precautions that should be taken by the residents who live near the volcano?

00:23Yes, Sheila, we saw the eruption of the volcano Canlaon.

00:27Yes, we saw in the video and in one of our feedbooks that there was a big plume of ashfall.

00:35The first thing we should look at is the ashfall.

00:37We should all be careful, especially our countrymen who have symptoms of the volcano.

00:42Those who have hiccups, emphysema, bronchitis and other diseases of the volcano.

00:47We should wear a face mask. Ideally, we should use N95.

00:52But if we don't have N95, we should wear a medical grade mask.

00:56Or if we don't have a face mask, we should use a piece of cloth that we have.

01:00We should layer it on our face.

01:02And we should wet it a little bit so that we don't get a rash.

01:06We should also look at the pyroclastic density current, or PDC.

01:11We read in a feedbook that if this is also mixed with water, there could be an eruption.

01:17It is very important that we listen to the LGU's advice

01:21when they say that we should stay away from the volcano.

01:26Do you have any advice that residents should take as a precaution

01:32aside from those who have existing health conditions?

01:36Yes, Sheila. We should add food to our diet.

01:43Aside from the existing conditions in Baga,

01:46if the wind blows, it can cause irritation in our eyes.

01:59we should wear goggles

02:01or goggles to cover our eyes.

02:03Because it is hard for our eyes to get in.

02:07If we get caught in the volcano,

02:10we should use running water to wash our eyes and face.

02:19aside from our food,

02:20we should make sure that our vegetables and fruits are clean,

02:24especially if it is mixed with water.

02:26So we should wash our hands with clean water

02:28to make sure of our food.

02:43Actually, when we saw that there was an incident,

02:47we called at 3 o'clock,

02:49our system was activated immediately.

02:52At the moment, all the regional offices of the Department of Health,

02:57especially those near our volcano, are code white.

03:00The reason for that is,

03:02first, all the health emergency response teams

03:04that are near the volcano

03:06are on alert

03:08and monitored the movements of people

03:10that are needed in evacuation centers.
