00:00And sometimes on social media, you will see a headline so outlandish, you think it must

00:08be fake. It must be a dupe account. It must be the onion. This one was not. It is real.

00:16And reportedly, it is a developing situation to monitor because it's not just the transfer

00:22portal and players changing homes. It's coaches looking for those vacancies. And reportedly,

00:29the best coaches in the history of the National Football League with six Super Bowl championships

00:34to show for it. Bill Belichick. Yeah, Bill Belichick has interviewed for the vacant head

00:41coaching position in Chapel Hill with North Carolina. BC guy, I start with you. Do you

00:48believe there is credibility to the idea that Belichick would be open to coaching at the

00:54collegiate level for UNC? I do. And the more I think about the story, I'll tell you why. So

00:59at first glance, I said he's old. He's you know, the game has passed him by in regards to NIL

01:04and some of the older coaches like Nick Saban and some of the others that have just walked away and

01:09retired. But then I started to think about it. Bill O'Brien, his former staff is now coaching

01:15at Boston College, right? He does have a young girlfriend. So he gets along with the Gen Z is

01:20in terms of that. He can recruit, right? And not only that now, hearing the reports about his son

01:29potentially taking over the program and maybe having that lineage down the road to building

01:34something that Mack Brown potentially couldn't bring back to prominence. I think the report,

01:40all these coaches, no matter younger or when they're out of the game, they don't mind doing

01:44broadcast TV. But the fire in the belly burns once they start breaking down tape, once they start

01:49seeing maybe weaknesses, or I would have did this differently. Yeah, I think this is a legitimate,

01:54serious story. I think Billicheck wants it. I agree. And so let me try and attack this from

02:02the college angle. Because like, we'll talk about this tomorrow on PFT. It's a so the initial thing

02:09and you've seen it, you've got valid sex going to deal with NIL and portal. Yeah. Why would why

02:15would he struggle with that? You mean the most ruthless dude when it came to free agency in the

02:20NFL? Who let Tom walk? Who let who let Gronk go? Yep. Who let? Are you kidding me? Let one kid walk

02:27in there say, Hey, Bill, I'm gonna hit the port. Bye. I actually sent your papers in kid. I think

02:33he would have no issues with that. That's Bill has dealt with pros exclusively forever. So the

02:56and walk in and go, Yeah, I'm as comfortable as I've ever been. And I think one of the really

03:01smart things about this is, here's the Dion approach. Don't go to the SEC. Don't go to the

03:08big 10. I'm now the big fish. Dion is the most popular coach in the big 12. Nobody would even

03:15dare to argue that you walk look around the ACC crystal ball is going to be on the hot seat now

03:21after every single loss for the rest of eternity, since he didn't close the door. Dabo is on the

03:25hot seat, quite frankly, at Clemson. Does Mike Norvell still have that job? I mean, there's

03:30no fire. Belichick walks into UNC as the guy right away in the conference. Now, big expectations,

03:42but instead of going to the Giants, right, and that's the NFL. So like, I think it does make

03:49sense if you and with you and see why not, of course. And here's the thing about Colorado.

03:54When Dion took over, they used to be a powerhouse in the big eight and early in the patch. Well,

03:58Carl Durrell had that program winning one game the season before the prime era.

04:03North Carolina, despite disappointing this year with Mack Brown, has made it to a bowl game in

04:08all six seasons that Brown has been in Chapel Hill. North Carolina is looked at as a very good

04:14job within the ACC. Yes, a basketball school first and foremost there on Tobacco Road,

04:20but the facilities, the investment in athletics, it is there. And at first I looked at this like,

04:25okay, power play leverage. I'm a hot commodity. I'm so good. I could do it in college.

04:31Come get me NFL teams because you know, I am a wanted man. And then the reports yesterday about

04:37trying to build the lineage and being very specific about how he would run his program

04:42to have his son in current Washington defensive coordinator, Steve Belichick, be the guy to take

04:48over does make some sense. And oh, by the way, Steve Belichick has been pretty good this year

04:53in Seattle under Jed Fish for an improving Huskies defense, Joe, over where they were even

04:59under Kayla DeBoer when they were the national title runner-ups. Yeah, if we're talking about

05:02preparation and we're talking about game plan, right, we think Saban, right, being the best.

05:07Bill Belichick could be hands down one of the best game planners coming in right from the get go,

05:11right? And that's where you talk about the love of football, the technique, the ability. We always

05:16talk about kids not tackling in space, not, you know, utilizing certain techniques. It's an

05:21immediate upgrade in terms of that regard. So, yeah, I think he's got a love for football. And

05:27again, I think Atlanta is kicking themselves right where they want, knowing where they are in terms

05:32of their current situation, not going with Belichick and going with Kirk Cousins. We'll

05:36see how that plays out. But CFT, not PFT, brother. You're right. But again, I mean,

05:44tell me, wouldn't it be great? And I'll throw this cherry on top. If Belichick does come back,

05:50his buddy that's doing game day right now, I'm just saying.

05:54He's getting, he's getting Manny Diaz despite a nine-week season at Duke Fire so he can coach.

06:01I mean, there's a shot that Saban's coming back for one of these programs for a year or two.

06:05But I also, now, I don't want to talk out of school. You two would know it better than me.

06:10But the Ohio State job, right? People are like, oh, clearly Ryan Day can recruit.

06:15Sometimes, like, I don't know if Ryan Day is out there always doing it. Like,

06:19oh, man, you think Bill's going to be, I don't know if Bill is going to go to every kid's house.

06:23Now, and also, we just did the portal thing. Like, Bill Belichick is a part of the Tom Brady story,

06:31right? I know we associate Bill with defense a little bit more. Don't be nuts to think that

06:36Bill didn't have his hands in every single thing. So if you're a quarterback that wants

06:40to hit the next level, you will also be looking Bill Belichick's direction undoubtedly.
