00:00But as you know, Scotty, this is the SEC, and the pressure is always very high, and so are the expectations.
00:07The first thing I would say about expectations is we, when we talk about expectation, I think the important part is what we expect from each other.
00:17And I think we've learned that, right?
00:19I think it's not only, not only do you need to block out noise, but it's absolutely necessary that you do it, right?
00:26So I think we've got to have high expectations for each other.
00:31You talk about our schedule, you know, I firmly believe that that will be earned in the fall.
00:38You know, so we can talk a lot about potential for the next 40 days, but we'll play the games in the fall.
00:44All right, then let's strap in.
00:46I got a buddy whose kid is going there, and what a rude awakening it is.
00:52Uh, that place is crazy for expectations, and they think they should win the national championship and everything every year in basketball and football.
01:01Well, let me just give you a little sampling here.
01:04I won't give you every game, but let me give you some of the games on Florida's schedule this year.
01:09At LSU, at Miami against the Canes.
01:12Remember, the Canes dumped them in Gainesville last year, early in the year.
01:15This is the return game where they go down to Hard Rock.
01:18Texas comes to the swamp at Texas A&M, Georgia in the cocktail party game, at Kentucky, at Ole Miss, Tennessee at home, Florida State again at home at the end of the year.
01:30That ain't easy for Bill.
01:32That's a tough schedule he's got to roll with this year.
01:35God bless him.
01:35Brutal.
01:36That's brutal.
01:37Brutal.
01:38That's not easy.
01:39In fact, that's why I hear all those games, and I go, seven and a half?
01:45Can they get the eight wins with that kind of schedule?
01:49I'm not so sure about that.
01:52I doubt it.
01:52And then they'll fire him.
01:55I agree.
01:56In fact, I would name them one of the 12 schools that would fire him tomorrow if Nick Saban wanted to come coach.
02:02So, it would be Florida would go, and they'd pick Nick Saban up in Bristol or wherever he is.
02:07And they would hire him so fast, your head would spin.
02:12Yes.
02:13They 100% would.
02:14Like I said, I think almost every team in the league would.
02:17I think the only ones that probably wouldn't is, you know, Georgia loves Kirby.
02:21Kirby's won championships.
02:22He's not good at the fair.
02:23I think Texas obviously loves Sark.
02:26And, you know, there's really not Lane.
02:30I don't know if, I mean, I'm sure, listen, I think maybe just because he's younger, I don't think that Ole Miss would get rid of Lane Kiffin.
02:35I don't think they're getting rid of him.
02:37I think he's the most exciting coach in that conference.
02:42I think, you know, everyone else, you know, they'd probably be willing to let it go for Nick Saban.
02:50Here's Shane Beamer.
02:51Now, he did a lot of crying last year.
02:53I know you remember when South Carolina didn't make it into the college football playoff.
02:58He believes, get ready for this one, you can win a national title at South Carolina.
03:03I mean, we have to earn our respect, and we've got to do it consistently.
03:09And when the rankings or predictions come out this week, I mean, the normal schools are going to be probably right up there at the top.
03:20And when I say the normal ones, the ones that have been picked near the top for pretty much the last 20 years in the SEC in a lot of ways.
03:27So we've certainly got to earn our respect.
03:29But in this league, if you show you're one of the best teams, which we've beaten so many of the best teams in this league, there's teams that we haven't.
03:38But as you continue to recruit and continue to develop, yeah, absolutely, it's attainable.
03:43And I wouldn't be here if I didn't think it was, Jordan.
03:46I didn't come here to go 7-5 every year.
03:50I came to South Carolina to compete for championships, and we're there, and we're continuing to develop and get better as well.
03:59Going to win a championship in Columbia, huh?
04:02They don't ever win a championship in football at Columbia at South Carolina.
04:09That's just all there is to it.
04:10You know what?
04:10I think he's done a really good job down there with what he's got, and I think it's a good school.
04:17People love going there.
04:20Students love it, and they, you know, they don't win their games.
04:26That's just all there is to it.
