00:06These are produced by Spanish craftsmen in keeping with the tradition of the country's
00:10northeastern Catalonia region.
00:12The Caganay or Pooper figurines were originally designed as comical shepherds hidden among
00:17nativity scenes but has expanded to include world leaders and celebrities who dominated
00:21the headlines.
00:23Online store Caganay.com's CEO Sergi Alos says sales of United States presidential candidates'
00:28pooping reflected the outcome of the country's recent vote.
00:32Joining Trump in this year's lineup are statuettes of French President Emmanuel Macron, currently
00:36handling a government crisis, and the far-right leader Marine Le Pen, who helped generate
00:41it.
00:42Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky, Russia's Vladimir Putin, Venezuela's Nicolas Maduro,
00:47and Argentina's Javier Millet are also featured.
00:50The Catalan traditional figurines symbolize fertilization of the earth and are believed
00:54to bring prosperity and luck.
