00:00The Office of the Ombudsman orders Vice President Sara Duterte and others to respond to the complaints
00:06backed by the House of Representatives stemming from her allegedly anomalous confidential fund
00:10spending. Ombudsman Samuel Martírez confirms to Rappler the issuance of the order for the
00:16Vice President to file her counter-affidavits to the complaints. Apart from Duterte, nine other
00:21officials from the Office of the Vice President and Department of Education were also ordered to
00:26file their affidavits. Based on the Ombudsman document published by GMA News, Duterte and
00:31other officials are facing the following complaints. A House panel pushed to recommend filing of
00:37complaints against Duterte after it was able to establish that the confidential funds were
00:41misused based on questionable and fabricated acknowledgement receipts found in the OVP
00:46and DepEd documents. Meantime, House officials insist on Thursday, June 19, the lower chamber
00:52did not intentionally refuse to accept the entry of appearance filed by VP Sara Duterte's lawyers
00:57for her impeachment trial. Senate impeachment court spokesperson Reggie Tongol previously said
01:03the copy furnished to the House had a note tender copy refused to receive. House spokesperson Princess
01:09Abante clarifies the document sent to the House last June 16 was not accepted due to its vagueness and
01:15anonymity. She explains, the House only wanted the letter to be properly identified and there wasn't any
01:21bad intention behind it.
