00:14Accountability, presented the committee's findings on Tuesday, June 10.
00:18The panel investigated the alleged misuse of confidential funds by the Department of Education
00:23and the Office of the Vice President in eight public hearings held from September to December
00:282024. During the hearings, it was found that a total of 612.5 million pesos in confidential
00:34funds was spent while Duterte was leading both offices. Duterte, along with OVP and deput
00:40officials involved, may face charges such as technical malversation, falsification, use of
00:46falsified documents, perjury, bribery, corruption of public officers, betrayal of public trust,
00:52and culpable violation of the Constitution. Aside from Duterte, the following may also be
00:57charged with plunder. The House also recommends improving rules for reporting and auditing of
01:05confidential funds and stricter guidelines for handling secret funds.
