Reactive Great Dane Discovers Her Calling As A Foster Mom To Kittens

She even let them nurse on her! We spoke to Lisa on what it was like when she discovered her reactive dog's gift of nurturing foster kittens

00:00I was so scared to introduce her to those kittens.

00:05She's extremely reactive.

00:10I was very alert with her body language,

00:15but she just fell in love with them.

00:20Winnie's never been very nurturing to other animals,

00:25so when she let them nurse on her,

00:30I about lost my mind.

00:35I was seeing this side of Winnie that I didn't know existed.

00:40Their mother was hit by a car,

00:45and I decided to take them in and find them homes.

00:50She was very loving towards them.

00:55We have done basically everything to help Winnie manage her anxiety.

01:00It's been challenging and frustrating,

01:05and so seeing her lick their face, like, I lost it.

01:10I was just like, this cannot be happening.

01:15The family that took the kittens were so excited.

01:20It was a joy to see the babies start their lives with their new families.

01:25This whole experience made me look into a foster program to save more kittens that need help.

01:30I saw the gift in Winnie,

01:35and so I really look forward to fostering with Winnie
