PAGASA: Wind signals lifted as ‘Marce’ exits Philippine area of responsibility

00:00At 4 p.m. yesterday, we went out to the area of responsibility

00:04where we were watching the typhoon Marseille.

00:07At the moment, it is 290 kilometers away from the city of Ilocos Norte.

00:13The typhoon Marseille was said to have a strong wind

00:18that reached 140 kilometers per hour in the middle

00:21and when it fell, it reached 170 kilometers per hour.

00:25And it moved west-southwest at a speed of 20 kilometers per hour.

00:30And because the circulation of the typhoon Marseille is small,

00:34it has no direct effect on any part of our country.

00:38That's why we don't have high tropical cyclone wind signals

00:42in any part of our province.

00:44But this afternoon until tonight,

00:47we still expect thunderstorms here in the Ilocos region.

00:52But here in Metro Manila,

00:54and in other parts of our country,

00:56there is no direct effect.

00:58This is what we are watching for the typhoon Marseille.

01:00That's why it's partly cloudy,

01:01until it's only cloudy in our province.

01:03And if we experience rain,

01:06it's only temporary.

01:08This afternoon until tonight.

01:11Meanwhile, let's update on the low-pressure area

01:15that we were able to see

01:16at a distance of 1,705 kilometers from the south-eastern Luzon.

01:22According to the LPA,

01:23the chance of a typhoon within 24 hours is low.

01:28But based on our latest TC Threat Potential,

01:31this is valid for one week.

01:34This is the number one here.

01:36This means that it has a high chance

01:39or a high chance of a typhoon

01:41within the next five days.

01:42That's why we will continue to monitor

01:44this low-pressure area

01:47where we expect it to enter our area of responsibility

01:52tonight or tomorrow morning.

01:54And this has no direct effect

01:56on any part of our country.

01:58But even if it's an LPA or a typhoon,

02:01it will cause widespread rain,

02:04flooding, and landslides,

02:05especially in the Cagayan or Isabela area.

02:08Even in the Quezon, Aurora, and Bicol regions,

02:29in any part of Luzon.

02:31That's why the weather will be clear,

02:33especially in the northern Luzon area

02:37in the past few days.

02:39Tomorrow, the weather will be clear there,

02:42especially in the morning until the afternoon.

02:44But by the afternoon and evening,

02:46we still have a chance

02:48of experiencing heavy rains

02:50due to the localized thunderstorm.

02:55is 25 to 32 degrees,

02:57Tagaytay is 23 to 30 degrees Celsius.

03:06And in Taguigarao and Legazpi City,
