00:00
At 4 p.m. yesterday, we went out to the area of responsibility
00:04
where we were watching the typhoon Marseille.
00:07
At the moment, it is 290 kilometers away from the city of Ilocos Norte.
00:13
The typhoon Marseille was said to have a strong wind
00:18
that reached 140 kilometers per hour in the middle
00:21
and when it fell, it reached 170 kilometers per hour.
00:25
And it moved west-southwest at a speed of 20 kilometers per hour.
00:30
And because the circulation of the typhoon Marseille is small,
00:34
it has no direct effect on any part of our country.
00:38
That's why we don't have high tropical cyclone wind signals
00:42
in any part of our province.
00:44
But this afternoon until tonight,
00:47
we still expect thunderstorms here in the Ilocos region.
00:52
But here in Metro Manila,
00:54
and in other parts of our country,
00:56
there is no direct effect.
00:58
This is what we are watching for the typhoon Marseille.
01:00
That's why it's partly cloudy,
01:01
until it's only cloudy in our province.
01:03
And if we experience rain,
01:06
it's only temporary.
01:08
This afternoon until tonight.
01:11
Meanwhile, let's update on the low-pressure area
01:15
that we were able to see
01:16
at a distance of 1,705 kilometers from the south-eastern Luzon.
01:22
According to the LPA,
01:23
the chance of a typhoon within 24 hours is low.
01:28
But based on our latest TC Threat Potential,
01:31
this is valid for one week.
01:34
This is the number one here.
01:36
This means that it has a high chance
01:39
or a high chance of a typhoon
01:41
within the next five days.
01:42
That's why we will continue to monitor
01:44
this low-pressure area
01:47
where we expect it to enter our area of responsibility
01:52
tonight or tomorrow morning.
01:54
And this has no direct effect
01:56
on any part of our country.
01:58
But even if it's an LPA or a typhoon,
02:01
it will cause widespread rain,
02:04
flooding, and landslides,
02:05
especially in the Cagayan or Isabela area.
02:08
Even in the Quezon, Aurora, and Bicol regions,
02:12
it's possible to experience rain
02:14
because of this LPA,
02:16
it's possible for there to be a typhoon
02:18
within the next five days.
02:19
That's why we will continue to monitor
02:21
the updates that are coming out of Pag-asa.
02:25
As for the forecast for tomorrow,
02:27
we don't expect heavy rains
02:29
in any part of Luzon.
02:31
That's why the weather will be clear,
02:33
especially in the northern Luzon area
02:35
where it experienced rain
02:37
in the past few days.
02:39
Tomorrow, the weather will be clear there,
02:42
especially in the morning until the afternoon.
02:44
But by the afternoon and evening,
02:46
we still have a chance
02:48
of experiencing heavy rains
02:50
due to the localized thunderstorm.
02:52
Our temperature tomorrow here in Metro Manila
02:55
is 25 to 32 degrees,
02:57
Tagaytay is 23 to 30 degrees Celsius.
03:00
In Maybaguia City,
03:01
the temperature is 17 to 23 degrees.
03:03
Lawag is 24 to 31 degrees.
03:06
And in Taguigarao and Legazpi City,
03:08
the maximum temperature will reach 32 degrees.
03:12
In Puerto Princesa and Calayaan Islands,
03:16
the maximum temperature is 25 to 32 degrees.
03:20
In Bisayas and Mindanao,
03:23
we also don't expect heavy rains tomorrow.
03:26
That's why they will continue to experience
03:29
clear weather,
03:30
especially in the morning until the afternoon.
03:32
In the afternoon and evening,
03:34
the weather will be cloudy
03:35
and there is a high chance of rain
03:37
due to the localized thunderstorm.
03:40
That's why when we go out,
03:42
don't forget to bring an umbrella
03:44
even if it's hot during the day,
03:46
in the afternoon,
03:47
and during the rain in the afternoon and evening.
03:50
Our temperature tomorrow
03:51
in Iloilo and Tacloban
03:54
is 26 to 32 degrees Celsius.
03:56
In Metro Cebu,
03:57
it's 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
04:00
The highest temperature tomorrow
04:02
will reach 32 degrees
04:03
in Cagayan de Oro,
04:04
33 degrees in Mezambanga,
04:06
and in Metro Davao.
04:10
To our fellow Filipinos,
04:12
we still have a gale warning
04:14
in the western coast
04:16
of Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur.
04:18
But we expect that by tomorrow,
04:21
the gale warning will be lifted.
04:24
We are just being careful
04:25
about the small sea vehicles
04:27
that will pass through,
04:28
especially in the western coast
04:30
of the Ilocos region
04:31
because the moderator of sea conditions
04:33
is still possible by tomorrow.
04:36
And now,
04:36
especially in the eastern coast
04:38
of our country,
04:40
in the Cagayan area,
04:41
we don't have a gale warning
04:42
that is lifted.
04:43
Generally,
04:44
the waves will be moderate.
04:49
For our 3-day weather forecast
04:52
for the leading cities
04:53
in our country,
04:54
particularly here in Metro Manila
04:56
and Baguio City,
04:57
where until Tuesday,
04:59
we didn't see any severe rains
05:01
and we also didn't see
05:03
a possible LPA effect
05:05
or a possible storm
05:07
here in Metro Manila.
05:08
And in Baguio City.
05:10
That's why we will continue
05:11
the clear weather
05:12
for the next 3 days.
05:13
There will be rains
05:14
but only isolated cases
05:16
in the afternoon and evening.
05:18
If we see here
05:19
in the part of Legazpi City,
05:20
by Sunday and Monday,
05:22
the sky will be cloudy
05:24
and there is a high chance
05:25
of scattered rains,
05:26
thunderstorms, and landslides.
05:28
But when Tuesday comes,
05:30
we expect improving weather conditions
05:32
in the part of Legazpi City.
05:35
Our temperature for the next 3 days
05:37
here in Metro Manila
05:38
is 24 to 32 degrees Celsius.
05:40
In Baguio City,
05:41
16 to 24 degrees.
05:43
And in Legazpi City,
05:45
24 to 32 degrees Celsius.
05:48
Let's go to the leading cities
05:50
in Kabisayaan,
05:51
in Metro Cebu,
05:52
Iloilo City,
05:54
and Tacloban City
05:55
where until Tuesday,
05:56
we expect generally fair weather conditions.
05:59
There will be rains
06:00
but only isolated cases
06:03
in the afternoon and evening.
06:05
Metro Cebu,
06:06
25 to 33 degrees
06:08
in terms of temperature.
06:09
In Iloilo,
06:10
25 to 33 degrees.
06:12
And in Tacloban,
06:13
25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
06:16
For our countrymen in Mindanao,
06:18
where we don't have a typhoon
06:20
or bad weather that could affect us,
06:22
for the next 3 days,
06:24
we expect good weather conditions
06:25
in Metro Davao,
06:26
Cagayan de Oro City,
06:28
and Zamboanga City.
06:30
We also expect rains
06:32
but only in the afternoon and evening
06:35
because of localized thunderstorms.
06:37
We can monitor
06:38
the thunderstorm advisories
06:39
issued by our PRSDs,
06:42
Original Services Divisions,
06:44
where we post it
06:46
on our social media
06:47
and our website.
06:51
Our day here in Manila
06:53
will end at 5.26 pm
06:55
and it will be popular again
06:57
tomorrow at 5.54 am.
