The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned on Thursday, Nov. 14 that Severe Tropical Storm “Pepito” (international name: Man-yi) could intensify into a super typhoon before making landfall over Central Luzon this weekend.
This comes as Typhoon “Ofel” (international name: Usagi) continues to batter extreme Northern Luzon and remains inside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).
00:00At around 8 o'clock last night, the Philippine Area of Responsibility entered Baguio, which has an international name of Mani, and we gave it a domestic name of Pepito.
00:13The latest location of Baguio-Pepito is 945 kilometers away from the eastern Visayas.
00:22This is a severe tropical storm with strong winds near the center reaching 100 kilometers per hour and an opening of 125 kilometers per hour.
00:33It continues to move at a speed of 35 kilometers per hour.
00:38For now, there is no direct effect in our country, but we expect that as early as tomorrow, it will rain heavily in Kabikulan and eastern Visayas.
