00:00In our food venture in Tarlac, we have a special companion.

00:25That's just a few of the things you can do as a balloon tourist.

00:31That's what you call being a tourist for a cause.

01:01When did this start?

01:03And I guess, when did your passion for animal welfare start?

01:08We established this in 2006.

01:11Because we were looking for a place where we can put our rescues from the dog meat trade.

01:17Because while we have arrangements before with the LGU,

01:21to put our rescues there, we had a very limited time to find homes for them.

01:27When we were starting the dog meat trade rescue,

01:30we were rescuing 200, 300 dogs in one truck, in one jeepney,

01:35in three, six rescues a month.

01:38Our founder, he's a British citizen.

01:41Charles was able to read in a newspaper back in the UK

01:47about dogs being slaughtered for commercial or human consumption.

01:51So we came here, investigated, he formed a group to look into it

01:56and then eventually, he formed Animal Kingdom Foundation.

02:00Because it's a passion.

02:06Now, they are taking care of 300 dogs and cats here

02:09and everyone is looking for a permanent home or a place for them to live.
