Hello. There was certainly some dramatic weather around overnight, especially across northern
00:05
England, south-east England, east Anglia, some lively thunderstorms in places and we'll
00:09
see more heavy showers and thunderstorms through Thursday as well. Low pressure close to south-west
00:16
Wales, south-west England. That low pressure has been with us for five to six days or so
00:21
and it's still slow moving across the UK. It's still bringing some of these lively downpours
00:27
and those showers will be slow moving through central parts. A bit more of a breeze in the
00:31
south will carry along the showers but make it feel on the cool side. I think drier conditions
00:37
for the north and north-west of Scotland where temperatures could peak at 21, 22 Celsius
00:42
or so and we'll see 20 to 21 Celsius where winds are lighter through central parts but
00:47
the breeze in the south make it feel cool. Likewise for the north-east of Scotland where
00:52
that breeze will pick up through the day. You might notice the locations on the map
00:56
have changed. These locations will actually now vary on a daily basis which means we can
01:03
cover more of the UK so around 70 or so locations will be displayed at various points through
01:10
the week and we'll see greater variety and a greater number of place names on the maps
01:16
through the week. Either way it's looking unsettled wherever you are through Thursday
01:23
and into Thursday night some longer spells of rain pushing into northern England, southern
01:28
Scotland, some heavy rain for a time, a yellow warning there because of the risk of some
01:33
localised flooding, tricky driving conditions as well. Eventually that heavy rain peels
01:37
into northern Ireland, into north Wales as well but further damp weather into eastern
01:42
Scotland. Away from this zone, this wraparound occlusion, well we're going to see drier conditions
01:48
overnight as the daytime showers ease away, some clear spells but a lot of cloud cover,
01:53
a bit of a breeze so temperatures staying at around 14 to 16 Celsius. The wind actually
02:00
does pick up through the night across eastern Scotland, north-east England so a blustery
02:05
start to Friday here and that rain continuing especially through the central belt, the Lothians
02:11
into borders of Scotland, the far north of England. Heavy showers then break out widely
02:16
once again across England and Wales, more focus towards eastern areas but still quite
02:22
a number further west as well. Drier for northern Ireland eventually and certainly a fine day
02:27
to come for the north and north-west of Scotland. Temperatures a little lower here compared
02:32
with Thursday but further south where we again get some sunshine and some lighter breezes
02:39
20 or 21 Celsius. Into Friday evening the showers mostly start to ease away but further
02:47
damp weather for a time in the north-east and that will continue as we start the weekend,
02:53
at least at first on Saturday but it is a drying up period through the weekend. On Saturday
02:59
many places will see drier and brighter weather but Sunday sees more rain arrive from the
03:04
north-west.
