Hi there. Clouds and outbreaks of rain will continue to cross the country from the North
00:05
West through the evening and overnight so that by 6 o'clock that rain affecting Northern
00:11
England, parts of Wales, some heavy and steady bursts and then it pushes by late evening
00:16
into South West England, the Midlands and eventually after midnight turns up into East
00:20
Anglia and the South East. By this stage it's turning more showery and actually clear skies
00:25
follow the area of cloud and rain towards the North. There will be some showers for
00:29
Central and Western Scotland as well as Northern Ireland, a keen breeze here but out of the
00:34
breeze in the North in some sheltered spots, temperatures dropping into the single figure
00:38
so fresh starts to Friday. Plenty of sunshine in the North whilst an area of cloud affects
00:44
East Anglia, South Eastern England and for a time the rain could pep up for a bit. These
00:50
showers could start to get fairly lively during the morning, during the rush hour
00:56
affecting East Anglia and the South East, perhaps even a few thunderstorms. But they
01:01
do get out of the way by lunchtime and then for many southern parts of the UK, sunny skies
01:07
and dry. But in the North further showers continue for Scotland, Northern Ireland and
01:12
Northern England of a scattered nature but quite a number of them I think for Scotland
01:16
in particular brought in by a keen southwesterly breeze and that will make it feel cool. Temperatures
01:21
just a smidge below average for the northern half of the UK, 17 to 19 Celsius and in the
01:27
southern half of the UK at around average 22 to 26 Celsius. Then into Friday evening,
01:35
turns quieter for a time but what we're going to see is another area of low pressure approach
01:40
from the North West, this bringing a couple of weather fronts into Western Scotland and
01:47
the isobars will tighten so increasingly wet and windy particularly for the likes of Western
01:52
Scotland and Northern Ireland. Initially the showers in the North die away, still be one
01:57
or two around by midnight but our attention turns to the rain and the wind that is turning
02:02
up by this stage. In fact the winds could just about reach gale force around some exposed
02:07
coasts of the Western Isles but it's a wet and windy end of the night and double figures
02:11
where we've got that rain falling. But for much of Eastern Scotland, England and Wales
02:16
clear spells away from Western coasts and temperatures in urban areas 12 to 14 Celsius
02:21
but in sheltered rural parts are single figures. So fresh start but plenty of sunshine for
02:27
England and Wales, bright start as well for Eastern Scotland but soon enough the wind
02:31
and rain across Scotland and Northern Ireland sinks its way southwards reaching the central
02:35
belt as well as parts of Southern Scotland, parts of Northern Ireland by a late morning.
02:40
It turns more showery as it sinks south, I think it's a bit narrower, could bring some
02:44
heavy downpours actually to parts of Northern England by the late afternoon and there will
02:49
also be some showers developing ahead of it so for parts of the Pennines, the Peak District
02:54
into the Midlands, Wales and the South West. Away from these showers though plenty of fine
03:00
and bright weather in the South even if it does turn cloudier by the afternoon and for
03:04
parts of Central and Northern Scotland after that wet and windy start of the day, sunshine
03:08
and showers here along with a cool breeze and once again temperatures are just a little
03:13
below average across northern parts of the UK, 17 to 19 Celsius whilst they're at around
03:18
average further south where we get some sunny spells and still a keen breeze but not quite
03:24
as strong as further south. Then into Sunday a fine start for many, some early sunshine,
03:31
the cloud builds by the afternoon and in the far west we'll see some rain by the end of the day.
