Hello there, welcome to your weather update from the Met Office. As we go through the
00:03
next few days and into the half-term week, the weather is set to remain unsettled right
00:08
across the country as low pressure dominates, bringing in spells of rain and showers. But
00:13
at the same time, it is dragging in some warm air from the south, so temperatures by day
00:17
and by night will remain above average.
00:20
Back to this afternoon now, and there is a band of rain across parts of Scotland and
00:25
Northern Ireland, giving a rather wet and cloudy afternoon here. Further south across
00:29
England and Wales, there is some sunshine, but also some cloud and some showers starting
00:33
to work their way into south-west England and south Wales. But for all of us, it is
00:38
a mild afternoon, temperatures potentially reaching 18 or 19 degrees in the south.
00:43
Into this evening, that cloud and rain will linger on across Scotland, only slowly working
00:48
its way northwards. At the same time, further showers working their way in from the south,
00:53
and especially so as we go into the small hours of Sunday morning, and tense and thundery
00:56
band of rain beginning to move in across southern counties of England. But for all
01:01
of us, it will be a mild night for many, staying in double figures.
01:06
So that intense band of rain will gradually work its way northwards as we go through the
01:10
course of Sunday. Still some rain in the far north of Scotland too, and then a brief brighter
01:16
and drier spell coming in from the south, but then further heavy and thundery showers
01:19
working their way in as we go into the afternoon. So there is a yellow thunderstorm warning
01:24
in force as we go through Sunday and early Monday across parts of England and Wales.
01:28
So if you do want more information about this, you can always check us out on our website,
01:33
or follow us on our various social media channels. But that's all from me for now, see you again
01:37
soon.
