00:00Hello there, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. Over the coming

00:04days it's certainly turned much colder across the UK and for some of us we will see some

00:09snow. It's all courtesy of this area of low pressure which is developing as it moves across

00:13the UK on Monday. It bumps up into the colder air to the north and that will give us a risk

00:18of some snow in places. As it continues to move away during Tuesday and Wednesday it

00:23allows really us to open up the gates to that cold air from all of us turning cold come

00:28the middle of the week and also quite windy for a time too especially across the far east

00:33of the country. Back to Sunday morning and for many eastern areas actually we start off

00:38fairly bright. Further west a little bit more in the way of cloud and that cloud will actually

00:42increase as the day goes on allowing some areas of rain to move into parts of Northern

00:46Ireland and eventually into Wales and north-western parts of England too. For Scotland we will

00:51see a mixture of sunshine and showers and these showers will turn increasingly wintry

00:55across the far north during the course of the afternoon being brought in on a fairly

00:59keen wind so the temperature is really struggling here only reaching around 3 to 5 degrees potentially

01:05up to about 10 to 12 degrees across the far south. Into the evening the cloud and rain

01:11across Northern Ireland will spread across many parts of England and Wales but for Scotland

01:15we hang on to something a little bit clearer here. Still some further snow showers across

01:19the far north. Warnings are in force right throughout the night and into the early hours

01:24of Monday morning. Risk of some icy patches here too and a widespread frost developing

01:29with temperatures well below freezing. But under the cloud and rain further south temperatures

01:34probably not falling much lower than around 3 to 4 degrees but that will give us a wet

01:38start to the new working week across the south. That rain may well just taper off for a time

01:43but it will return later on in the afternoon and as that begins to bump up into the colder

01:48air across Northern England and southern Scotland it will turn increasingly to snow. Chiefly

01:53across the high levels but it may well turn to snow at lower levels from time to time

01:58and we do have a warning in force from Monday into parts of Tuesday too. So if you do have

02:04travel plans here do keep alert to the forecast in the coming days. So to the north of this

02:10band it will still be feeling pretty cold. Highs only reaching 3 to 4 degrees but actually

02:15just turning a little bit milder for a time because the very far south west could by the

02:19end of the day see highs reaching around 13 or 14 degrees. Thankfully this area of

02:24low pressure will move off towards the continent as we go through Monday night into Tuesday.

02:29It will leave behind quite a cold feeling day on Tuesday. Some strong winds especially

02:33across the east as I mentioned but for many of us a little bit more in the way of sunshine

02:37eventually developing but still the risk of some rain and some showers and again that

02:42rain will turn wintry at times especially across the north. Note the temperatures really

02:46struggling right across the board potentially up to about 8 or 9 in the south. If you want
