00:00Hello, there. Welcome to your latest weather forecast from the Met Office. Well, after

00:04a cold and very windy day today, the weather is set to change as we approach Christmas

00:08with something a bit milder moving in for most of us. Back to Sunday, and as I mentioned,

00:13it's going to be a very windy day. We do have warnings in force across many western and

00:16northern parts of the country right throughout the day. So, stay up to date with the latest

00:20warnings on our website. Away from the wind, really, it's going to be a day of sunny spells

00:24and blustery showers. Some of the showers will be falling asleep in snow, particularly

00:29across the high ground of Scotland, Northern Ireland and Northern England. The best of

00:33the driest weather, probably down towards East Anglia and the south-east of England.

00:39Temperatures on the thermometer, potentially up to about 7 to 9 degrees in the far south-west,

00:44but factor in the strength of the wind. It's going to be feeling much colder than this,

00:47certainly an afternoon to be wrapping up warmly right wherever you are across the country.

00:52Into the evening, the winds will gradually begin to ease, so that allows many inland

00:56areas to turn dry and clear. So, we could see more, in a way, of frost developing across

01:01much of Scotland and England as we approach the early hours of Monday morning. So, that

01:05could just give maybe a bit of ice around, especially after any late showers in parts

01:10of Scotland. But already, over towards the west, we're seeing this next area of cloud

01:14and rain just arriving into the far west of Norman Ireland. So, most towns and cities

01:19falling down to at least mid-single figures. I think a few spots falling closer to freezing

01:24and especially so in the countryside across parts of Scotland and England.

01:29But that will come with plenty of sunshine across these parts on Monday morning. A fairly

01:34cheery start to the week, but already the cloud and rain moving right across Norman

01:39Ireland and moving into parts of western Scotland, Wales and south-western England during the

01:43afternoon. But hanging on to the sunshine further east, but here remaining a little

01:48bit chilly, especially with this nagging wind affecting parts of East Anglia. So, temperatures

01:53up to about 6 to 7 degrees here. But over towards the south-west, by the end of the

01:57afternoon, we could see highs reaching around 9 to 10 degrees. And that milder air will

02:02win the day as we approach Christmas Eve. But most of us seeing a rather grey day on

02:07Christmas Eve with some patchy rain for Scotland. That may well turn persistent at times across

02:11the far north-west. But note the temperatures up to 12 to 13 degrees in a few spots. And

02:17that continues into Christmas Day itself. So, I think for most of us, it's going to

02:20be a grey Christmas rather than a white one. But mild temperatures again up to 12 to 13

02:26degrees. But we're just keeping an eye on the risk of some heavy rain at times across

02:29the far north-west of Scotland. But you can find out more information about the weather
