00:13While Jesus did come to save us, His ultimate reason for coming was the glory of God.
00:20Here's how Paul put it in Romans 15 verse 7.
00:23Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.
00:29Based on this overarching truth, consider five ways the coming of Jesus has an unmistakable

00:38Jesus fulfills God's promises.
00:40God's promises to people like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and David were fulfilled with Christ's
00:46coming.
00:47Ultimately, Christ fulfills all of God's promises.
00:512 Corinthians 1 verse 20, which in turn brings God glory.

00:57Jesus certifies God's integrity.
01:00By fulfilling God's promises, Christ shows us God's truthfulness.
01:05Romans 15 verse 8, even before God makes or keeps His promises, He is true in and of Himself.

01:22Long ago God said He would bless all the families of the earth through Abraham.

01:30This worldwide blessing is made possible through Jesus, the offspring of Abraham.
01:35Now anyone who trusts in Christ is a recipient of the blessing of Abraham by the sheer mercy
01:41of God.

01:43Jesus unifies God's people.
01:46Although Jews and Gentiles were very different from one another socially, politically, and
01:51culturally, Jesus came to unify them.
01:54But for what purpose?
01:56So that they might, with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

02:04When people from diverse cultures unite to praise God, this demonstrates God's excellency.

02:14God purposed to bring His people, Israel, together with all peoples to praise God.
02:19This purpose was foretold throughout the Old Testament, and it was fulfilled in Christ.

02:33The God-centeredness of Christ's coming is actually good news for us.
02:38God desires to bring glory to Himself by blessing His people.
