00:00I thought I could trust you.
00:08Some secrets you hear should be passed on to an adult.
00:12For instance, if someone tells you he is thinking of hurting himself or someone else, you should seek help.
00:18Too often, someone asks us to keep a secret.
00:22We make a promise, but then go tell someone, reminding the next person it's confidential.
00:28That person then does the same thing and soon everyone knows.
00:32Secrets are meant to be private.
00:35Your friend may be trying to understand a struggle he or she is going through before deciding to trust you with the problem.
00:43However, when you let the details leak, it only convinces your friend that he or she made a mistake in trusting you.
00:51If you feel you absolutely must tell someone, make sure it's a trusted adult who can help.
00:56Passing information on to other people your own age only ruins friendships, increases frustration, and invites unwanted trouble.
01:06Social media lets people post details about every part of their lives.
01:11If someone shares private details with you, it's never meant for the news feed.
01:16Prayer
01:16Dear God, help me be a good friend.
01:19If someone needs help, I should get help.
01:22If someone just wants to talk through issues, I should keep my mouth shut.
01:27I can always talk to you about any problem.
01:30May I use my mouth to ask for your help in every situation.
