I was living with my mom, my grandma, and my sister,

And so really, 90 to 80 percent of my upbringing was influenced by Filipino culture,

In the 1990s, Roline moved to America after her parents' petition.

This is where she met and married Anthony's German.

Roline promised herself that she would raise her children in Filipino culture.

It's ingrained in me that food is very special.

You know, it's a love language.

I make sure that they have Filipino food.

I want them to be proud that, hey, this is our food.

In 2009, when Roline opened her restaurant in California, USA,

Because of this, Andrei's love for Filipino food grew stronger.

While heating and sautéing the marinade, Andrei is preparing the chickens.

In a bowl, soak the chickens in the inasal marinade.

Let the chicken marinate for 12 to 24 hours.

With my chicken on the heat, I can now wait 7 to 8 minutes before I flip it.
