00:08Despite this, the case of abuse continues to rise.

00:36you can see the wounds on her face.

00:39The victim's mouth is open and her eyes are closed.

00:43We will hide her name as Rona, 19 years old, while asking for help.

00:51According to Rona, she went out of her house at 10 p.m. to buy food at the store.

00:57But while she was walking to the store, a man suddenly approached her.

01:10Suddenly, a man's leaf came out and he smelled it on her.

01:13This is where she started to faint and lose consciousness.

01:18The suspect forced her to get on the motorcycle and brought her to San Juan, San Miguel, Bulacan.

01:24When they arrived at a busy place, she was beaten and stabbed by a man.

01:32The suspect also tried to rape her.

01:35When I woke up, someone was screaming and asking for help.

01:38I thought it was my nephew who was asking for help.

01:40Ray immediately reported the incident to the barangay.

01:43In the ongoing investigation by the people of the barangay in the crime scene,

01:49they saw the motorcycle left by the suspect.

01:53On March 30, 2024, Rona's family formally filed a case of frustrated rape and frustrated homicide against the suspect.

02:03She was continuously searched by the authorities.

02:08On July 12, 2024, the video captured the merciless beating of Jack

02:16and the beating of a man by a woman.

02:20He also threatened the woman after she was hurt.

02:27The woman who was hurt in the video,

02:2921-year-old Ella, her real name is unknown,

02:38Ella also told that she can't count how many times she was hurt and threatened by Val.

02:44She was hit on the head.

02:46After she was hit on the head, she was kicking the floor.

02:50On July 13, this is when Ella decided to report to the authorities.

02:55According to the Philippine National Police Women and Children Protection Center,

02:59the number of cases of violence against women and children is increasing.

03:05From January to July of this year,

03:08more than 5,000 complaints were received from their office.

03:12But what is the authority doing

03:15to speed up the response to cases of abuse against women?

03:21We are with the different agencies of the government.

03:25We capacitate our barangays when it comes to violence against women and children.

03:30This is an inter-agency, not just the police.

03:33According to the Center for Women Resources or CWR,

03:36it is important to start strengthening the violation against women and children

03:41or VOWC Desk to make it easier for victims to report.
