Police rescued a 28-year-old Nigerian woman who is believed to have been a victim of sexual

exploitation during a raid in Kuala Lumpur today.

Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department Director Suhaile Zain said three raids were

conducted in the city, leading to the arrest of 39 Africans and two Pakistanis, Barnama

reported.

He said the victim and those arrested were taken to the Brickfields District Police Headquarters

for further action.

Suhaile said the raids were carried out at two entertainment centres in Jalan Cangkat

Bukit Bintang and one in Sri Hartamas.

He also said many of the detained foreigners failed to produce passports or valid identification.

The foreign nationals arrested were being investigated under Section 12 of the Anti-Trafficking

in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Act, as well as Section 55D, Section 151C

and Section 61C of the Immigration Act, 1959.
