00:00Sarawakian businessman Ha Ting-Siu, the husband of Pamela Ling, who was reported missing early last month, was arrested by the police this morning.
00:12Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Rusty Isa said Ha, also known as Thomas Ha, was arrested in the capital to assist in an investigation.
00:21However, he did not disclose the nature of the probe.
00:25Rusty also said the police's application for a remand order against Ha was denied by a court.
00:32Ling, 42, was reported missing on April 9 while on her way to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's headquarters to give a statement related to an ongoing investigation.
00:44MACC opened a probe into Ling and Ha in May last year for alleged corruption and money-laundering offences.
00:50Inspector General of Police Razah Rudin Hussain previously said the police were investigating the possibility that Ha was involved in Ling's disappearance.
