During a White House press briefing on Wednesday, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked about Vice President Kamala Harris’s health records and President Biden’s message to the National Association for Black Journalists.

00:00And you're, this is your first time in the front row. Hi.
00:02I appreciate it. Thanks for having me. Welcome.
00:04Good to see you.
00:06Just staying on the Vice President,
00:08I know you can't talk about their meeting
00:10and whatnot, but in terms of
00:12medical records and
00:14physical, are we going to see a little bit of
00:16sunlight on the Vice President's health
00:18as we get closer to the election?
00:20So, I know there was a lot, we were getting some incoming
00:22on this, and I know there's a lot of interest.
00:24The Vice President's office asked that you
00:26refer those questions, we refer those questions
00:28to her office, and so they will be
00:30gladly able to take those questions
00:32from all of you. And just one other question
00:34I wanted to ask as well. The President
00:36had previously committed to talk to black
00:38journalists at NABJ. I don't know if
00:40you're attending or going to Chicago
00:42for NABJ. We've seen you there before.
00:44He's no longer a candidate,
00:46and there's some back and forth between
00:48the Harris campaign and NABJ,
00:50but does the President have a message
00:52for those black journalists there at the conference?
00:54So, April Ryan asked me a question about this
00:56yesterday, and look,
00:58when it comes to black journalists,
01:00we want to make sure, and obviously
01:02all Americans, including
01:04black journalists, that we
01:06have an opportunity, and obviously
01:08talking to black journalists is obviously talking
01:10to the community,
01:12and so it's important that
01:14we do interviews as
01:16we've normally done with black-owned
01:18publications, and we have done that
01:20from the President to the Vice President to myself
01:22to other senior members of his team
01:24because we understand how important
01:26to have that
01:28kind of entry point into
01:30the community, and so that is something that we have been
01:32very proud of doing the past three and a half
01:34years, and we will certainly continue
01:36to do that. As it relates to NABJ,
01:38that was a campaign decision,
01:40so I would have to obviously refer you
01:42to the campaign. The President, as
01:44you know, is no longer a candidate, which is why he's not
01:46speaking this year,
01:48and so, as it relates to the Vice President
01:50as well, that is something for her office
01:52to speak to,
01:54but it is important
01:56for us to speak to,
01:58whether it's a radio host, a TV host,
02:00or a newspaper reporter,
02:02we do that on the regular,
02:04and it is something that we have been proud
02:06to do because we believe that
02:08we have been able to deliver for the community,
02:10all communities, whether it's
02:12the economy, health care, issues
02:14that they really, truly care about,
02:16and so we're going to continue to do that, certainly, for the next
02:18six months.
