00:00Good Vibes Festival's sponsor filed a lawsuit against the British music group The 1975 and all its members individually in the United Kingdom court.

00:12Controversy over the lawsuit involved the main vocalist, Mattie Haley, last year.

00:18According to court documents seen by the US entertainment magazine Variety Future South Asia,

00:24demanding RM11.25 million in damages following the festival's suspension,

00:30was due to Haley's actions.

00:32The sponsor claimed that The 1975 and its management were aware of some rights

00:38imposed on their performance in Malaysia.

00:41The lawsuit also stated that the group once held a performance at a music festival in 2016

00:48and was informed of the ban at the time.

00:51The festival, which was supposed to be held from 21st to 23rd July last year,

00:57ended earlier after Haley criticized the Malaysian law against LGBT

01:03before kissing her male friends on the first day of the event.

01:08Last year, the group received a seven-day notice involving RM12.2 million in damages

01:15for filing a lawsuit after the government suspended the festival.
