00:13Azmi Hassan of Akademi Nusantara said Samsuri's decision to relinquish the post he had held

00:18for years might not simply be about injecting fresh energy into the division.

00:33Samsuri, who has been the Marang Paz's chief since 2019, announced yesterday that he would

00:38not be defending his position as he said he believed the time had come for someone else

00:45Meanwhile, Terengganu Paz's committee member Hanafya Mutt said Samsuri's decision to step

00:50down was due to his huge mission of preparing for G-16.

00:55However, Shaza Shikri of International Islamic University Malaysia said Samsuri's decision

01:00could be tied to political maneuvering within Paz.

01:04She said the move might appear to be about opening up space for new leaders, but could

01:08also be interpreted as a response to growing unease among certain factions over Samsuri's

01:13position.
