Pakistan demands action from Afghanistan against Bannu attack perpetrators
Transcript
00:00Brigadier-in-Chief, please tell us about the current situation and the ongoing situation in Afghanistan.
00:07Since 2014 or before that, the Afghan land has been used one way or the other against Pakistan.
00:14Pakistan has always played an important role, whether it is the evacuation of the American army,
00:21the evacuation of the people from there, or the protection of the Afghan immigrants in Pakistan,
00:26or the treatment of them here on the basis of equality.
00:30But there has always been a negative reaction from there.
00:34So now, the way it has been called for a protest, do you think that is enough?
00:42I think that will be followed up by more engagement.
00:47We have a strong bilateral relationship with Pakistan.
00:57And we should also take the help of China, especially in Afghanistan,
01:04so that they can get the rights of the Afghan immigrants.
01:12China will not help them if they do not stop the evacuation of the Afghan immigrants.
01:22And as you know, there has been a history of the Afghan border,
01:27from the time of the Soviet Union to the time of the U.S. invasion.
01:32This area used to be used before.
01:37Now, there has been a major change since then, which people do not understand.
01:43It is the change that the Afghan government has come back.
01:49It is an ideological wellspring.
01:53The government gives the last order.
02:02So, even if the government demands,
02:08that they should do training with Pakistan,
02:12but it comes from Africa,
02:14it is an ideological bond with the TPP.
02:18They all say that they helped the Americans,
02:24they should get back to the same point.
02:30The TPP is an ideological bond.
03:00Now, when we say that a terrorist group is coming to Pakistan and carrying out terrorist activities,
03:07we have repeatedly raised this issue with Afghanistan,
03:11but we do not get a responsible answer from there.
03:14So, this matter has been decided that we cannot expect what we did with Iran.
03:21So, this is a very important matter,
03:23that we record the protests,
03:25we make these terrorists fail,
03:27but this process will not stop.
03:29So, Rashid Wali Janjua Sahib,
03:31despite repeatedly protesting against the Afghan government,
03:34despite pinpointing that a certain group is carrying out these activities,
03:37nothing happens.
03:39So, what is the solution to this?
03:41The solution is that we should aggressively invite the Afghan government,
03:50so that they have the confidence that Pakistan will not stop after this.
03:54And China and our neighbours should join forces and put pressure on them.
04:01After that, the Pak-Afghan border, Pakhtiyar Khos, Nangarhar,
04:06these bases should be collaborated with the Afghan government,
04:12and tell them that this is our right to attack them,
04:17because on these bases we cannot allow them to send these groups,
04:21and they should be helped.
04:23After that, we will see.
04:25Sir, sorry to interrupt,
04:27but this should be realized.
04:29First, there should be an acceptance that something is happening against Pakistan from here.
04:32Because this cannot happen.
04:34The infrastructure of Afghanistan,
04:36and the country is going through a rebuilding phase.
04:40So, it is not possible that there are no such people present from within,
04:45who support such elements.
04:47So, this is why we see that there is no acceptance.
04:49When Pakistan makes a complaint,
04:51it is not accepted that there is such a thing.
04:54Yes, it is like that.
04:56Because Afghans, they are wily customers.
04:58In Doha 3, the process that took place under the UN's aegis,
05:04our delegation met them bilaterally on the sidelines.
05:10Because its agenda was counter-narcotics,
05:13and economic linkages and engagement.
05:17But Pakistan raised this issue of cross-border terrorism indirectly.
05:23But they do not directly acknowledge this in any way.
05:28Because they think that their ideological,
05:32spiritual and temporal head, Mullah Abdullah Khunzada,
05:36his order is that they should deal with TTP in the same way
05:43as they deal with an ideological ally.
05:46This is a very dangerous situation.
05:48Exactly.
05:49And this is why we need, we do not have any other option
05:52than to engage with them.
05:54We have a lot of leverage in trade.
05:58We have a lot of leverage in humanitarian aid.
06:01And we should establish relations with them in such a way
06:07that they themselves are willing to help us.
06:12Because to estrange them,
06:14to have a bad relationship with them is not in our interest.
06:17And our allies like China and Russia can help us a lot in this.
06:23Especially China, which is currently investing in oil extraction
06:27and mineral resource extraction.
06:30But how do we materialize that?
06:32Because when it comes to their trade interests,
06:35they understand that if we do not change our way,
06:39then we will be at a loss.
06:41So, these leverages should be exploited in Pakistan.
06:44And we should improve our operations in our area.
06:47And the Civil Administration, the Counter Terrorism Department,
06:52the Police, and even the Judiciary,
06:55all of them will have to play their part aggressively
06:58to deal with this threat.
07:00We should not leave everything to the army,
07:02which is the only thing that is necessary.
07:04So, you are saying that we will have to engage these countries
07:08at the government level and diplomatic level.
07:10And this terrorism is not only a threat to Pakistan,
07:13it is a threat to Afghanistan as well.
07:15The image that they are building.
07:17Of course, you have to connect with the world,
07:19you have to trade, you have to do business.
07:21There are a lot of FATF-like matters.
07:24So, they keep a check and balance on all these things.
07:26So, how will you grow in the future?
07:28Look, in Doha, Pakistan has supported them.
07:31We supported the contention of Afghans on counter-narcotics.
07:36And that delegation also thanked the Pakistani delegation.
07:40So, these are the leverages that have to be exploited.
07:43The countries that will put pressure on them,
07:45especially China, Iran, and even Russia,
07:50all of them are being impacted by this Afghan situation.
07:54Because there is a report from the Daesh Monitoring Team of the UN
07:59in which it is said that ISKP is also being organized there,
08:03which goes to Europe and Russia and attacks them.
08:07After that, TTP is emerging as the biggest group.
08:12And Al-Qaeda is joining it in large numbers.
08:16They are training them.
08:18And they are in direct contact with them.
08:21So, when the UN Monitoring Team says such a thing,
08:26then the world also expresses this thing.
08:28Yes.
08:29He is absolutely right.
08:30Yes, Israel, America, and a few other countries,
08:34all of them are aware of what the UN says.
