00:00If anything, we will see an uptick in the intensity and the coverage of downpours as we go throughout the evening and into the overnight.
00:07Still looking at some of the heaviest rain right now points south for the city of Richmond itself, looking at a flash flood warning until 9 p.m.
00:14Also looking at, again, some heavier rain earlier on towards Charlotte County, Virginia, that prompted a flash flood warning that goes until 10 o'clock.
00:22So slow-moving thunderstorms earlier on also had some flash flooding around Virginia Beach, and we continue to see these thunderstorms.
00:29So here's the key with these. These are moving south to north, so they're not going to be out of the way in a hurry,
00:36but rather they're going to be moving over some of the same areas again and again as they gradually slide their way a little bit further off to the north.
00:45So, again, this is going to be an area that we'll start to see the rainfall totals increase as we go down the road, as in Virginia Beach right now just shy of an inch of rain.
00:54If you were to look just to the north and the west, you'd start to see some of the yellow, indicating a multiple inches of rain,
01:00a very light amount so far around our nation's capital and in New York City.
01:05But, again, for some spots, that could change quickly as we work our way through the evening into the overnight and also into Saturday.
01:12There are numerous flood watches out stretching from Baltimore on north and eastbound, again, through Long Island and even in and around Boston.
01:20You can still see numerous downpours here and not too far away from Boston as we work our way into Saturday afternoon.
01:27The interior will begin to dry out, though, as we see any early showers here.
01:33Here's the main corridor of concern.
01:35This is going to be stretching for a time, even in the southernmost main, kind of bending its way back, primarily east of Interstate 81.
01:44And there's also going to be some coastal concerns tied to this as well with this tropical surge of moisture, some rough surf,
01:50dangerous rip currents, life-threatening rip currents, and also, again, elevated hazardous boating conditions here, too, right through Saturday.
01:59We go into Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, and we'll start to turn our attention to building heat,
02:04where there can be dozens of record-high temperatures in jeopardy, and this will increase the cooling demand,
02:09with temperatures going up to 15 degrees above the historical average, and that puts us up to 97 in Washington, D.C.,
02:16on Monday, 95 in New York, 96 in Charleston, West Virginia.
02:20AccuWeather real field temperatures Monday, for some, will be into the triple digits.
