00:00 Canadian police say they have arrested three Indian nationals for the killing of a Sikh
00:04 separatist last year in Vancouver.
00:06 The three men are accused of being the shooter, driver and lookout on the day Hardeep Singh
00:11 Nijjar was killed.
00:13 We arrested and charged three individuals for first degree murder and conspiracy to
00:19 commit murder in relation to Hardeep Nijjar's homicide.
00:24 This investigation does not end here.
00:26 We are aware that others may have played a role in this homicide and we remain dedicated
00:32 to finding and arresting each one of these individuals.
00:36 Nijjar became a Canadian citizen in 2015.
00:40 He advocated for a separate Sikh state known as Khalistan, carved out of India.
00:45 He was wanted by Indian authorities for alleged terrorism and conspiracy to commit murder.
00:50 He was shot dead last June in the car park of the Sikh temple he led in Vancouver.
00:56 The Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced several months later that Canada
01:01 had credible allegations linking Indian intelligence to the killing.
01:08 An ensuing diplomatic crisis resulted in a series of tit-for-tat expulsions between the
01:13 two countries.
01:17 Canada is home to some 770,000 Sikhs, with a vocal minority calling for the creation
01:23 of an independent state of Khalistan.
