00:00 Bersatu can expect to see more new faces in its top leadership after the upcoming party election later this year, according to one of its Supreme Council members.
00:12 Terengganu Bersatu Deputy Chief Rosol Wahid said this is because the party has more MPs and Assemblymen now compared to when it held its party polls in 2020.
00:23 He said the increase in the number of elected representatives provides delegates with more potential candidates to take up party leadership positions for the next three years.
00:34 Bersatu has a total of 31 MPs and 60 state Assemblymen.
00:40 Party polls are expected to proceed this year after a delay of 18 months.
00:46 However, Rosol does not expect the election to be intense since incumbent President Muhyiddin Yassin is unlikely to be challenged.
00:55 Meanwhile, Deputy Chief of the Women's Wing Mas Ermiyati Samsudin said the majority of party leaders still believe that Muhyiddin should remain in the top post.
01:06 "I think the presidency has a lack of people who feel they are worthy to help the party and to strengthen Bersatu."
