00:00 May I say, what a pleasure it was to exist in the year of Hannah Waddington.
00:05 We had you at Eurovision, we had you at Christmas, we had you in Lasso.
00:10 And frankly, I didn't have my fill. I didn't have my full minute.
00:14 I'm so sorry.
00:15 How... is your head still spinning over the last 12 months?
00:18 What is life like for you now?
00:20 I'd just be too excited to get out there.
00:23 I'm constantly losing my voice because of things like this.
00:26 It's been incredible, genuinely unexpected.
00:32 And certainly this move into hosting...
00:36 It's like... just insane.
00:40 I mean, I genuinely, when they offered it to me, I was like, "Has someone dropped out?"
00:48 Did someone drop out?
00:50 Don't be ridiculous.
00:51 Honestly. I actually said to my management, I was like, "Can you check that they mean me?"
00:56 Because I've never presented in my life. You know?
01:00 What are you enjoying the most at the moment?
01:02 Because obviously you're a multi-talented actor, performer, singer, host and presenter.
01:10 But is there anything that actually...
01:12 It feels like you're kind of scratching all the itches you could possibly have right now.
01:15 What are you getting your most... your kicks out of?
01:18 The fact that I'm flick-flacking all over the place.
01:21 And I said to my guys the other day, I was just like,
01:24 "I don't want anyone to ever think they've got the measure of me."
01:27 I think it's much more fun to be a multi-hyphenate
01:30 and try your hand and be the best you can at that,
01:33 then move over to here and try and be the best you can at that.
01:35 It's just so much more enjoyable than just staying in one lane.
01:40 And then actually wanting to do that and being allowed to do that is a very different thing.
01:45 So honestly, this move, I just... I love it.
01:49 A lot of people will be asking you what you're going to be bringing back.
01:53 Because when you do something like the Christmas show, like Eurovision, like Lasso,
01:57 obviously people are going to be asking when, if that returns in the future, over and over again.
02:01 But are you looking at new challenges now, new projects?
02:05 Are you more excited about the unknown than you are about repeating the things that you love to do?
02:08 I mean, I would do Eurovision every year of my life until I've got a Zimmer frame.
02:15 I undoubtedly will go again on my Christmas special
02:18 because I feel like that was my little starter portion.
02:23 And also, the whole hosting thing is really something that I've already got into.
02:30 And then I've moved more into executive producing.
02:32 Myself and Octavia Spencer are producing something for Amazon.
02:36 So it's nice to be able to put that little thing away and then do that for a minute.
02:40 You know, meantime you never get bored.
02:41 Some shoulders to be rubbing alongside.
02:43 I know.
02:43 And very quickly, obviously we're celebrating British TV tonight on the whole.
02:47 Is there anything you're particularly excited to celebrate or people to meet?
02:51 No, do you know what?
02:52 I couldn't be more proud of being a British performer
02:56 because, I hate to say it, but an awful lot of things get bought from Britain.
03:03 You know?
03:05 So being here feels very fancy.
03:08 Well, long may that continue.
03:10 And this is all the more fancy because of your presence.
03:12 Thank you.
03:13 I look forward to seeing you again.
03:14 I look forward to seeing what else you do next.
03:16 Thank you.
03:17 But in the meantime, just have a bloody nice night.
03:19 Bloody nice night and a glass of wine without my bebe.
