Dakota Leeds: I tried one of the new deluxe suites at this luxury hotel

Promising a ‘stylish, sleek and beautifully bold’ stay in the heart of Leeds city centre, I put this boutique hotel to the test.  Dakota Leeds has recently refurbished its first floor, transforming the former Salon Prive bar into new deluxe suites and garden rooms complete with private terraces.

00:06 and I'm here at Dakota Hotel where they have just refurbished some of the new deluxe rooms.

00:12 Now I am lucky enough to have been invited here to try one of them. So let's go inside.

00:17 The business is named after the Dakota Airliner which took its first flight in 1936.

00:22 At the time it was offering what was then a luxury at a more affordable price

00:27 and the staff told me that's the ethos of Dakota Hotel.

00:30 There's a range of rooms from the classic double to the deluxe suite that I'm lucky enough to be staying in.

00:37 So let's have a look in here. It's a gorgeous bathroom, absolutely tons of space.

00:43 You can tell it's just been done up recently. The decor is absolutely gorgeous.

00:48 So there's an amazing living space here as well. You've got a desk to work on, a beauty area.

00:54 You've got the coffee table in the middle and a huge TV. So it really is an enormous room and a real piece of luxury.

01:01 So I've settled in and unpacked my things, put on the dressing gown, you've got to do it.

01:05 The decor is really nice, it's not too over the top, it's muted but really classy.

01:11 So I'm staying in one of the deluxe rooms, the new deluxe rooms.

01:15 But I also had a bit of a look around the new garden room.

01:18 So what was previously Salon Privé has now been transformed into new garden rooms with terraces.

01:25 That will be amazing in the summer.

01:27 So I'm just having a bit of a chill now, catching up with some emails and now I'll be heading to dinner in a couple of hours.

01:51 I slept like a baby last night. The bed was so comfortable. Honestly, the best night's sleep I've had in months.

01:57 Last night the dinner was really good. I had the halibut, my friend had the steak.

02:01 Cooked to perfection. They've got a new head chef there, he took over a few months ago, Chris Nuttall.

02:07 And he's doing a really good job of Dakota Grill. I've been there before but we absolutely loved the experience.

02:13 So I kept finding hidden surprises in the room last night.

02:16 The shower doubles up as a steam room which was a nice touch.

02:19 There's an espresso coffee machine. There's actually two flat screen TVs.

02:24 I've loved my stay here and I'm not quite ready to go home yet.

02:27 So I'm going to stretch out a little bit longer, do some work from the room until it's time to check out.
