00:00 Well, for months, for two years even, and especially in the last few months, Volodymyr Zelensky
00:06 has been multiplying the calls to the community of allied countries to supply more ammunition,
00:13 to supply more financial aid to Ukraine. And you know, he addressed briefly this summit,
00:18 Volodymyr Zelensky, he gave a little over a minute long speech to the Assembly to thank
00:26 the world leaders to be reunited there in Paris to discuss further help to Ukraine.
00:31 But what's really pressing for Ukraine now is that not only this aid is pledged, but
00:38 also that it arrives here in Ukraine. Just yesterday, President Zelensky was saying that
00:45 out of the ammunitions pledged by the European Union, only 30% of what had been pledged had
00:52 been delivered here in Ukraine. And it translates for Ukrainian soldiers as ammunition shortages.
01:00 And that's what we hear from the frontline where people are saying that they're running low on
01:05 ammunition and that this is not getting any better given the uncertainty faced by Ukraine,
01:10 especially when it comes to US military aid. And that's precisely what this summit aims to address.
01:17 And for Ukraine, it is also about brokering new bilateral deals, the way it did with the UK,
01:24 with France, with Germany, with Italy, with Canada as well. So what Kiev awaits tonight
01:30 from that summit is more help pledged, but also more help delivered.
01:35 Well, and of course, we know that USAID to Ukraine has been held up in the US Congress
01:40 by the Republicans. How are people in Kiev feeling about the waning support for the war
01:45 effort from the West?
01:47 Well, I think this is more of an uncertainty rather than a waning support. And people,
01:57 of course, are worried. They're trying to take it one day at a time. But of course,
02:00 when you look at the front lines, the situation is not very favourable to
02:06 Ukrainians at the moment. Today, the Ukrainian army confirmed that it has withdrawn its troops
02:13 from yet another village near Avdivka. This is for operational purposes, they say, to regroup and
02:19 to be along a new defence line. However, this is a direct translation of that
02:26 need for ammunition. And that's what worry people the most. And you know, over the weekend,
02:32 we've also heard President Volodymyr Zelensky saying for the first time, sharing for the first
02:37 time a number of soldiers killed, Ukrainian soldiers killed in action since 2022, and it's
02:45 31,000 people. So while Ukrainians and its army are waiting for ammunition, this also translates
02:54 in loss of life here. So people here are mostly worried.
