00:03 Let's take a look at the playoff runs, how these teams got here
00:08 after these regular season divisional titles.
00:11 We'll start it off with the Niners.
00:12 Niners earning that number one seed.
00:14 They got the bye in the wild card round.
00:16 And then what happened next?
00:17 We saw a little bit of a fluctuation
00:20 in their dominance, perhaps.
00:22 When they were dominant earlier in the season,
00:24 they hit a little bit of a valley midseason.
00:26 And by the time they get to the end of the regular season,
00:28 they're like, ah, the Niners are fine.
00:29 But were they?
00:30 When they played the Green Bay Packers,
00:33 we had a serious issue with them looking
00:37 like they might actually lose that football game.
00:40 They end up getting the victory.
00:41 But what did we see from the Niners?
00:44 We saw, perhaps, a team that was a little overconfident.
00:49 They thought they'd go up against a rookie in Jordan Love
00:52 and walk over them.
00:54 But that wasn't the case.
00:55 Niners trailing in the second half of that game.
00:58 It took a couple of late interceptions by Dre Greenlaw
01:02 to take out those Green Bay Packers, who
01:04 are a team next year that a lot of people will be looking at.
01:07 So beyond that, they get to the next game.
01:10 We have them-- that's the divisional round.
01:13 And obviously, they get to the NFC Championship game.
01:16 And they go up against the Detroit Lions, a team
01:18 that we thought, all right, great story for Detroit.
01:21 They made it to San Francisco.
01:22 But the run is going to end there.
01:24 It's not the way that game started, for sure.
01:27 17-point lead at halftime.
01:29 And then we all know about the crazy comeback,
01:31 a massive third quarter explosion by the 49ers.
01:35 And then they ended up closing it out in style
01:38 with a 34 to 31 victory.
01:41 So that's how the Niners were able to build their way
01:44 to the Super Bowl.
01:45 Kansas City Chiefs, on the flip side,
01:48 they don't earn that bye this time around.
01:50 And they get to the wild card round,
01:52 walk over the Dolphins in freezing cold weather,
01:54 26 to 7 victory, and then move on
01:57 to beat the Bills in another classic 27 to 24.
02:01 And again, the Chiefs are trailing
02:03 in a lot of these games.
02:04 They are a team-- both teams, I would say.
02:07 I'd take a moment to say, both teams really
02:10 built to play from in front.
02:11 The Niners are very much a team that
02:13 likes to be in front, a high-scoring first half team.
02:16 The Chiefs as well.
02:18 And both defenses have proven to be
02:21 very good in the second half, particularly the Chiefs.
02:23 That will be a theme that I talk about all throughout the week.
02:26 Chiefs' second half defense, Chiefs' fourth quarter
02:28 defense, that's going to be the theme
02:30 that we talk about all week.
02:31 But the Chiefs, obviously, would come from behind victory
02:36 against the Buffalo Bills, and then
02:38 against the Ravens, a 17 to 10 victory, which was a game that--
02:42 we're used to talking Lamar Jackson, Patrick Holmes,
02:45 offensive explosion, not the case at all, 17 to 10.
02:49 Chiefs go on the road, punt five times in the second half,
02:52 do not score, and win the football game.
02:54 So an impressive performance for them defensively.
02:57 Steve Spagnuolo, another guy that we'll talk about a lot
03:00 this week, and how he's able to make adjustments to slow down
03:03 the opposing offenses.
03:05 So that's how they got here.
03:07 I would not say that the Niners did it with style points,
03:10 but it's a survive and advance type of league,
03:12 and they are here to try to revenge that Super Bowl
03:16 from a few years ago.
