Wales headlines 23 January: more yellow wind warnings for Wales
Another day, another named storm is coming to Wales, this time its Jocelyn. The met office have announced two separate yellow weather warnings, one for north and one for south Wales which overlap, running until Wednesday afternoon. Forecasters predict power cuts and travel disruption.
The six nations will not be added to the UK Government’s free to air so called ‘crowned jewels’ list, despite calls from Welsh politicians to do so. The tournament is currently on ITV and BBC, but there are concerns that it could be offered to the highest bidder when the current deal ends in 2025.
Two fire engines with a full team of firefighters were called to Cardiff city centre on Monday to rescue a seagull that was stuck on top of a building. A large crowd gathered on the castle end of Queen Street to watch as the team eventually managed to free the bird, which was met with cheers from the onlooking crowd.
