What to watch including The End We Start From and Panorma

00:03 I'm Stephen, National Wales Digital Trends Writer, and I'll be talking you through

00:07 what's worth watching on TV, streaming and in cinemas this weekend and beyond.

00:12 So on Friday the 19th of January we have Cristobal Balenciaga, which is a Disney+

00:19 biopic series in the Spanish, and it's a six episode chronicle of the rise of the designer

00:28 from his humble origins to becoming a fashion icon, and there'll be six episodes airing weekly.

00:36 Also on Friday we've got a couple of movies. We have Netflix film The Kitchen,

00:43 starring Top Boys Kano as Izzy. Izzy and Benji fight to navigate a dystopian world where all

00:51 social housing has been eliminated as the residents of The Kitchen, one of the final bastions of

00:57 the people living in social housing, refuse to abandon their homes. So that could be quite an

01:04 interesting one. We also have The Holdovers, as Benji mentioned briefly in the main podcast,

01:12 which is coming to cinemas. It's already tipped for some awards buzz, and it follows a cranky

01:18 history teacher at a remote prep school who's forced to remain on campus over the holidays

01:23 with a troubled student who has no place to go. Again on Friday we have Bequeathed, a Netflix

01:29 Korean crime drama, and on Amazon Prime we have Has Been a Hotel, which is an adult animated

01:38 comedy. It's done a 2019 YouTube pilot. It follows the daughter of Lucifer, Princess of Hell,

01:46 who runs a rehab hotel for demons who she wants to be able to rehabilitate and send to heaven

01:52 because Hell's got an overpopulation problem that she wants to basically shove off onto heaven.

01:59 Then on Monday we have a Panorama documentary, Britain's Crumbling Schools. This is on BBC One,

02:07 and it's just a documentary looking at the state of British schools, especially following the

02:11 various scandals that have come to light in recent years. Again on Monday the 22nd we have Born From

02:19 the Same Stranger on ITV1 at 9pm. This follows different sets of siblings from the same sperm

02:31 donor who may have no idea that the other existed, and the ITVX documentary series essentially aims

02:42 to reunite the siblings with each other as they learn that there are more relations out there.

02:52 It's a four-part documentary series airing at 9pm on ITV1 on Mondays weekly.

02:57 Finally, another film coming out this week is When Is the End We Start From, which comes to

03:06 UK cinemas on Wednesday the 24th. It's a drama film starring Jodie Comer and is set in the midst

03:16 of an ecological crisis which sees London submerged by floodwaters. Jodie Comer stars

03:23 as an unnamed mother who has just given birth in a London hospital and is attempting to make it

03:29 back up north to her hometown through the midst of the natural disaster. It's based on a novel of

03:39 the same name and also stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Mark Strong and Gina McKee. Gina McKee and

03:44 Mark Strong were both previously working together on Our Friends in the North. So that's definitely

03:51 going to be one to look out for. Jodie Comer, of course, a fantastic actress. Anyway, that's all
