00:02 - I somehow set Twitter ablaze last week
00:05 with it's down to the Dodgers and Blue Jays
00:08 and a lot of people laughed at me
00:10 and said there's no way in hell
00:11 and what do we see right now?
00:13 Every major media outlet is talking about the Blue Jays,
00:16 the Blue Jays, the Blue Jays are getting closer.
00:19 It doesn't mean it's actually gonna happen.
00:21 I can tell you most sports books have pulled this right now
00:25 because the winter meetings are going on,
00:27 but it's still up in Canada specifically.
00:31 And the Blue Jays are down to plus 150 right now.
00:34 All right, so the Dodgers are minus 175,
00:37 the Blue Jays are plus 150 and then there's everybody else.
00:40 So what I said last week is bang on.
00:42 It's down to the Dodgers and the Blue Jays.
00:45 You know, the Blue Jays wanna take over two countries,
00:48 Carver, it's the thing with the Blue Jays,
00:50 people, you know, we talk about their,
00:52 the amount of money that they have,
00:53 but they also have the biggest television ratings
00:55 in major league baseball by far, right?
00:57 Like, you know, like the Yankees have a lot of viewers.
01:01 It's less than a million, Carver, you know what I'm saying?
01:03 Like as far as watching their game is concerned,
01:05 Los Angeles, Dodgers, same thing.
01:07 Dodgers have like 600, 700,000 people in the city.
01:10 I'm talking in the city of LA, like the local broad,
01:13 not national broadcast, local broadcast.
01:15 Carver, the Blue Jays have 45 million,
01:19 like basic potential viewers.
01:22 And they're owned by a cable company
01:24 that has the cable rights
01:26 to basically half the people in the country, right?
01:29 So like their numbers are massive, the Toronto Blue Jays.
01:32 So the amount of revenue that they generate television wise,
01:35 they want Japan as well.
01:37 They see like two countries that they could take over,
01:39 become Japan's team as well.
01:43 I don't know if it's gonna happen,
01:44 but I gotta tell you what, they're freaking trying.
01:47 And if it doesn't happen for them, Carver,
01:49 we had Kurtz on who was a Yankee fan last night,
01:51 like he's just freaked out by all of this.
01:54 Like if you're the Yankees,
01:55 you better be getting soda right now.
01:57 - Right, I agree.
01:58 - Because if the Jays swing and miss on Otani, bro,
02:01 they already showed, we got a bag with $600 million, okay?
02:06 And we already got everybody's hopes up.
02:07 We're not coming home empty handed from these meetings.
02:10 They're just gonna turn, and we've already heard,
02:12 they're juggling two things at once, right?
02:15 They're in contact with San Diego.
02:17 We know San Diego, Carver,
02:19 do not wanna trade them into the National League.
02:21 They're like, whatever, we'll send them out there.
02:23 The Yankees, Blue Jays, Mariners,
02:26 if you're the Yankees, you're not in on Otani.
02:29 The Blue Jays are in on Soto and Otani,
02:33 and Cody Bellinger as well.
02:35 And you know the Mariners, bro,
02:36 they're gonna do something, right?
02:38 They were expected to be in on this Otani stuff.
02:41 I keep on hearing to Oscar Hernandez, to San Diego.
02:45 It's a great pairing, right?
02:46 If you're Soto, you pair Julio Rodriguez and Soto together
02:49 for years to come, Carver.
02:51 The Yankees, I know it's not more about the Blue Jays.
02:54 Yankees better make some moves.
02:55 But the thing is, Cashman thinks his team
02:57 is pretty effing good already, as he said, right?
