00:04 Twenty families from Afghanistan and Ukraine will be housed in Salford under a resettlement
00:09 scheme funded by the government.
00:11 The City Council has been asked to provide affordable accommodation for the refugees,
00:16 following an agreement with the Department of Leveling Up Housing and Communities.
00:21 Work has begun on a large part of Radcliffe Town Centre as it is being demolished to make
00:25 way for a major new hub for the town.
00:28 Diggers and cranes have moved into an enclosed compound around the town's central piazza,
00:33 where buildings are being levelled to make way for the civic hub.
00:37 And finally, the finalists for each category of the Manchester Culture Awards 2023 have
00:42 been announced.
00:43 The awards celebrate some of the best and brightest talent across the city and will
00:47 take place on Monday 4th December at Aviva Studios.
