00:05 They get to Max Scherzer early.

00:06 They play three in the top of the second.

00:09 Houston adds on runs from there.

00:11 Josh Young tried his best, the rookie third baseman,

00:15 for Texas to keep the Rangers afloat.

00:17 But it was really all the Astros last night, Donny.

00:20 Their first win of the ALCS.

00:22 8-5 the final.

00:24 - Yeah, it looks like the key in the playoffs here, Ben,

00:26 is pretty simple.

00:27 Don't get down 5-0 and you have a legitimate chance

00:29 to win some of these games.

00:30 If you get down 5-0 and score five runs late,

00:32 there's a chance that you need more than five runs

00:34 to actually win that game.

00:35 And granted, Houston Astros jumped all over Max Scherzer.

00:39 But before we do that, end of the segment yesterday,

00:41 a couple best bets.

00:42 I picked two guys to get RBI yesterday.

00:44 One of those guys was Alvarez,

00:45 so we cashed that ticket, which was great.

00:47 But also, the big question mark in this game

00:48 coming into it, Ben, was Max Scherzer

00:50 and what were we going to get on the mound for him?

00:52 And I said repeatedly yesterday,

00:54 I didn't think that lining up Max Scherzer

00:56 in game number three made the most sense.

00:58 I actually thought that, yes,

00:59 he probably should pitch in games three and four,

01:01 but not from a starting variety here.

01:03 Let him come in in the fifth or sixth inning,

01:04 get a couple outs here,

01:05 get used to being back on the mound here.

01:07 And then maybe in the World Series,

01:09 when he has a couple innings under his belt

01:10 and used to being out there,

01:11 can be a starting pitcher, let's just say,

01:13 game three, if it's the Phillies or the Arizona Diamondbacks.

01:16 He got smoked early.

01:17 And the thing I love about this too,

01:18 post-game press conference, Ben, they asked Max Scherzer,

01:20 it's like, "Hey, how'd it go?"

01:21 I said, "Man, you know what?

01:22 Some things didn't go well, but a lot of things went great."

01:24 I don't know what he was talking about

01:25 where a lot of things went really well.

01:26 Four innings pitch, five earned runs,

01:28 only four Ks and a walk out there on the mound.

01:31 He was basically the reason that Texas got rocked

01:33 in this game because when you're behind the eight ball,

01:35 you're not coming back against a quality opponent here.

01:37 Credit the Houston Astros who were just trying to fight,

01:40 Ben, to get this series back to Houston here.

01:43 That was a big step yesterday

01:44 to now make the series two to one.

01:45 And today, the pressure again will be on the Texas Rangers.
