00:00What do you think of Scooble against Freed Chicken? I think Max has been brilliant, first to 10, lower ERA, but everybody has Scooble as the best pitcher in the game, maybe, and certainly in the American League, and I think Freed's in concert with him.
00:16I agree. I think that is a closer discussion than a lot of people do think. Freed has been terrific. The Yankees have also been terrific for him. The plus run differential is over 60 runs plus when Max Freed's on the mound, so despite the fact that he's got a sub-2 ERA, he hasn't needed it because the Yankees have put out enormous run support for him. Eventually, I'm sure that's sort of a weird stat will change around a little bit, and there'll be some difficult times, but Freed has been right there with Scooble.
00:44I think the thing with Scooble is, you know, he hasn't lost since his second start. He gives him a chance to win every single time, and I think right now it's that normal thing that happens where the media and everybody falls in love with a player, and we get obsessed with that player for a couple years until we move on to the next one, and right now, we're in the Scooble zone. That's where we are, but I think there's a lot of moving parts in some of these awards still to go.
01:04I mentioned that in El Cy Young, I think it's still a lot of moving parts. I was on with Mish a couple weeks ago, and he was telling me, oh, let's look at the rookie of the year board for National League, and he said Drake Baldwin and Augustin Ramirez, and I said, no, neither of these guys. Both of them have hit a wall already. They're both catchers. They're going to wear down by the end of the year.
01:20I said, go give me Jacob Mizorowski, who is a plus 20 to one right now, and right now, Jacob Mizorowski, after three starts, is minus 120 on that board.
01:28Yeah, and let me ask you about, and there's no doubt, I've been watching that too, two teams that I've been just cashing tickets on left and right, and they're both wildcard teams, and they're both dangerous, and, you know, one of them is so far up the Yankees took us, it's not even funny. It's Tampa Bay and Toronto.
01:45Yeah. Yeah. Tampa's a really interesting situation, because Brian Pepio has been terrific the last couple starts here, last six or so. Shane Boz really picked things up. I don't think they're going to get McClanahan back this year. I really don't, but Camonero has been unbelievable. He's on pace for a 4,100 season, so Tampa, to me, is a team that, just for once, will ownership just spend? Just give them a chance.
02:08Go acquire somebody. Make a run. The American League is weaker than it's ever been. Give the Rays a chance to win a World Series. How ironic, too, that if they ever get to the playoffs and do a World Series this year, we don't know where they're going to be playing those games, potentially, which is a weird thing.
