00:00Mets beat the Braves 4-0. It was really the only night game last night.
00:04Jeff McNeil, we've talked about him a lot.
00:07He's had some big hits for the Mets in the past couple months.
00:10He did it again last night. 2-0 game, close.
00:13McNeil gives him some breathing room on SNY.
00:16It's a breaking ball. Lines in. Base hit!
00:20Soto is in. Alonzo right behind him.
00:22Jeff McNeil drives with a pair, and it's 4-0 New York.
00:25You know, we gave you the Mets yesterday here on Coast to Coast.
00:30I had it on my app. I've been hitting games left and right.
00:34And that was after they lost 10 of 11.
00:37And they had the Soto 2 home run game to break the ice.
00:41And then they backed it up and split that series with the Braves
00:45with that big win last night, 4-0.
00:47And I had mentioned to, you know, Joe, PCP, the Toronto, the Jays, you know,
00:54and Rays, for me, have just been cashing tickets left and right
00:57and playing great baseball.
00:58They're a tough team.
01:00And they get a lot of hits, and they score runs, and they get the pitching.
01:03They're a playoff team.
01:04Both of those teams are dangerous.
01:07And the Mets needed those back-to-back wins.
01:09Like, people need water.
01:12They did need those.
01:14And with the Phillies obviously not having a good couple days in Houston,
01:17the Mets are now back in first place in the NL East.
01:20The bad news for them last night was Griffin Canning.
01:23He left the game.
01:24That has now been confirmed.
01:27Ruptured left Achilles for Griffin Canning.
01:30He's finished.
01:32But he, you know, he had a great, I thought, first couple of months for the Mets.
01:37And he, you know, he was very dependable.
01:40And he had great outings.
01:41He had a great record, ERA, everything.
01:43He had it all going.
01:44And then ruptures the Achilles.
01:47He's done.
01:47So, that's a huge loss for the Mets.
01:51And I would say right now, you know, look, a lot of teams go to Houston
01:56or play the Astros, whether it's in Houston or wherever, and they lose to them.
02:01The Astros have great pitching.
02:03They got the hitting with Pena and company.
02:07They got rid of Tucker, and they are better.
02:10That is amazing to me.
02:12And you do not want to play them.
02:14So, the Phillies went there and scored one run in three games and lost.
02:18The Phillies will go right back to winning now that they got out of that, you know,
02:22Charlotte's web.
02:23I mean, you go down to Houston and get your ass beat.
02:26That's part of the territory now.
02:29You go there, you lose.
02:30And you get, you know, no runs.
02:32And they pitch you to death.
02:34And they hit you to death.
02:36So, I think the Phillies will get right back into it.
02:39And I think that canning loss will cost the Mets in some capacity.
02:44And I think their lead of whatever it is, a half game is tenuous at best.
