The 37th edition of the Barum Rally Zlín held in Czech Republic from 24/26 August 2007, was a round of both the IRC-Intercontinental Rally Challenge and the European Rally Championship for drivers.

The event was marred by the death of Luděk Kocman, co-driver to Pavel Karlík in the #81 Opel Astra GSi 16V. The car went off the road and crashed on the co-driver door into a tree, during the third special stage "Pindula", at 11h30 on Saturday, 25 August 2007. Both driver and co-driver were immediately taken by rescuers to Zlín hospital.

Luděk Kocman succumbed to his head and chest injuries at 19h00 the same day. The driver Pavel Karlík sustained minor injuries and was released from hospital after treatment. After the fatal accident, the stages were not suspended and the French crew Nicolas Vouilloz-Nicolas Klinger, in a Peugeot 207 S2000 eventually won the rally. As a sign of mourning, the organizers annulled the prizegiving ceremonies after the end of the event.

A highly experienced rally co-driver, Luděk Kocman, 49 years old, competed with relative success in rallies at home and abroad, since the mid-1980s. The 2007 Barum Rally Zlín was his first start along with Pavel Karlík. Luděk Kocman was survived by his wife and their 14-year-old daughter.
