Two civilians and a police officer were stabbed at Atlanta airport by a female knife-wielding assailant.
Videos shared online showed a woman facing off with airport security while brandishing a weapon and passengers huddling together for safety.
Atlanta Police Department say all three victims - a female traveller, a male, and a police Lieutenant - are "alert, conscious and breathing" and the assailant is in custody.
A spokesperson said: "Officers engaged the female, attempting to talk her into dropping the knife and working to restrict her movement and move travellers from the area.
"During the encounter, the female suspect stabbed an adult female and then an APD lieutenant as he attempted to take her into custody.
"After taking the female into custody, officers learned she had stabbed an adult male, prior to officers encountering her.
"All victims are alert, conscious and breathing and have been taken to the hospital. The female suspect was not injured and was taken to the airport precinct."
An investigation into the attack on Wednesday (11/10) is underway.
