West Midlands transport chiefs have declined to support proposals to close rail ticket offices across the region. The West Midlands Rail Executive and Transport for West Midlands said they could not support the proposed closures due to insufficient information around how passenger needs would be met.
A Solihull shop can no longer sell knives after a licensing review. This is the first time a shop had its licence changed in this way in the West Midlands. The move came after a test purchase was carried out in October 2022 at the store in Bosworth Drive when a knife was sold to a juvenile test buyer.
