What’s On Glasgow: May Festival Edition

The annual Glasgow Coffee Festival kicks off on 13 May which will see the city’s Dear Green roasters welcome bean professionals from across the country to showcase their products and knowledge

The weekend programme includes product demos, masterclasses, presentations, competitions and much more.

The festival is set to take over the Briggait in the City Centre and tickets start at £14.

Next up, Glasgow’s book festival Aye Write is returning for 2023 on 19 May with more than 120 events set to take place across 11 days.

The line up includes writers such as Alistair Campbell, Ruby Wax, Liz Lochhead and Jane Godley who will be leading literary discussions and debates.

Aye Write will take place between the Mitchell Library and the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, while event listings can be found online.

And finally, a worldwide event Pint of Science is coming to the city on 22 May, bringing researchers to local pubs, cafes and venues to share their discoveries.

The Alchemy Experiment, Drygate Brewing, Dow’s Bar and Sloans are among the venues which will host talks and lectures focusing on topics from atoms and galaxies to societies here on earth and much more.
