What’s on Wales: Festivals, golf and open-air theatre
  • 9 months ago
If you’re a fan of golf then you’ll be all too aware of the man himself Ian Woosnam, one of the biggest names in Welsh sport through the decades. He’ll be joined by a number of ex-pros at the Senior open as it comes to the Royal Porthcawl golf club this month for the Senior open, one of the biggest senior events on the golfing tour. Taking place from the 24th to the 30th July.

Westival is a relatively small festival sitting right on the coast of the Pembrokeshire national park. It’s been named as one of the best small festivals anywhere in the UK and welcomes top names in the dance music scene. It prides itself on its welcoming atmosphere and house party feel. Taking place from the 20th til the 24th of July.

And finally, Cardiff is welcoming plenty of performers to the city in its famous open air theatre festival in Sofia Gardens. With famous plays like Macbeth and a midsummers night’s dream and new favourites like Matilda Junior, and even open-air cinema with the Rocky Horror Picture show. There’s something for everyone throughout July, on now until the 29th.
