Apple suffered a massive outage today that left thousands of users without access to its services.

Starting at 4:30 GMT (11:30 ET), thousands of people complained of problems, according to Down Detector, a website that monitors website outages.

Over 4,000 users reported problems accessing Apple Music, while nearly 4,000 users reported problems with iCloud.

Users also face issues with the App Store, Find my iPhone, Apple Maps, iTunes and iMessage, and Apple TV.

Apple's internal systems in corporate and retail are also believed to be down, according to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, who said he is "restricting remote work and retail operations such as product pickup and repairs."

It is unclear what caused the failure.

Apple's status page shows 11 services are down

Apple's status page shows outages for 11 services: App Store, Apple Arcade, Apple Music, Apple TV Plus, iTunes, Podcasts, Radio, Apple Business Manager, Apple School Manager, Device Enrollment Program, and Schoolwork.

The tech giant later updated this to say the last four were back, but iCloud Calendar, iCloud Contacts, iCloud Mail and iCloud Private Relay were affected.

The company has yet to comment on the issue, but it is believed to be a global issue, with users in the US and UK complaining.

Many Apple users have turned to Twitter to vent their grievances.

One wrote: "Apparently iMessage is off because no one can send media...Apple? What happened."

Another added: "I'm assuming Apple Maps' servers are down because I've been trying to enter the address for my next visit to the site, but it says the server is down.

"So I thought I'd use Waze to get there."
