South Korea has officially expressed its plans to bid for the right to host its first World Expo in the southeastern port city of Busan in 2030.
The announcement came in a virtual meeting on Tuesday by the organizer that coordinates the event.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy is planning to hand in the application form next year and the final venue will be decided in December 2023.
The World Expo is one of the three largest international events along with Olympics and World Cup.
