S. Korea to play Philippines in Asian Cup opener on Monday

In football, the 2019 AFC Asian Cup has kicked off in the United Arab Emirates.
In the opening match on Saturday, local time, the hosts played to a 1-1 draw against Bahrain.
South Korea will be looking to end a 59-year drought at the Asian Cup... with their new coach Paulo Pento, who's led the team undefeated for seven matches.
But this will be his first time taking South Korea into a major competition.
The team is also counting on key players like Son Heung-min and Hwang Ui-jo.
South Korea is in Group C along with China, Kyrgyzstan and the Philippines.
Their first match in Dubai will be against the Philippines on Monday.
Then they'll play Kyrgyzstan on Friday and China on January 16th.
