Saroj Khan Dies At 71; Madhuri Dixit, Kareena Kapoor & Others Remember The ‘Masterji Of Bollywood

Bollywood’s iconic choreographer Saroj Khan passed away on July 3. The news made several celebrities mourn the loss of the legend. "I'm devastated by the loss of my friend and guru, Saroj Khan," tweeted Madhuri Dixit. Amitabh Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma, Karisma Kapoor, Kajol, Taapsee Pannu and many others remembered the ‘masterji’ of Bollywood. Tributes poured in from the television world as well. Television stars like Rashami Desai, Shweta Tiwari, Mouni Roy, Arjun Bijlani and others shared posts and remembered the charismatic soul. Choreographer Remo D’Souza, who worked under and with Saroj Khan deeply mourned her demise. Farah said she was an inspiration. She had a career span of 40 years, choreographing over 2000 songs. She started her career as a child artist at the age of three for the film 'Nazarana,' and then, graced many stages as a background dancer. She got her first break in 1974 with the movie 'Geeta Mera Naam.” Khan's Earliest Routines were for Sridevi in films like Mr India, Nagina & Chandni; she choreographed the quirky moves in Hawa Hawai. She worked with Madhuri Dixit on Tezaab's Ek Do Teen, Thaanedaar's Tamma Tamma Loge, Beta's Dhak Dhak Karne Laga and other numbers. She was the recipient of three National Film Awards. She also won Filmfare awards for many songs. Saroj Khan was a legend who will be remembered forever!
